Fans Injured in Backstreet Boys Concert Accident

Fourteen fans of pop group Backstreet Boys were injured when severe weather conditions caused a pavilion to collapse while waiting in line for a concert.

Fans waited for the show to begin at the WinStar World Casino and Resort in Oklahoma, while one of the groups’ members, Kevin Richardson, tweeted, “Severe weather, high winds and rain just passed thru here in Thackerville, OK.”

In a statement, the venue confirmed, “The storm hit and knocked over the concert entrance trusses with 70-80 mile an hour winds and heavy rain.”

Fourteen people were treated for injuries at the scene, then taken to hospital for further support.

Backstreet Boys cancelled the sold-out show, stating, “We never want to put our fans in harm’s way and with tonight’s weather and the injuries from earlier, we have decided to cancel the show and will attempt to reschedule. The most important thing is for everyone to get home safely and we will see you all very soon!”
