Workstation Ergonomics

Course Overview

This course is designed to help you understand the importance of ergonomics in the workplace, particularly when it comes to designing and setting up a workstation that is safe, comfortable, and conducive to productivity.

As you know, many of us spend a significant portion of our day sitting at a desk, staring at a computer screen. Unfortunately, poor ergonomics can lead to a range of health problems, from eye strain and headaches to back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, and other musculoskeletal disorders.

Through this course, we will explore the principles of ergonomics and how they can be applied to your workspace. We will cover topics such as proper posture, desk and chair setup, lighting, and computer placement, as well as strategies for taking breaks and staying active throughout the workday.

By the end of this course, you will have a solid understanding of the importance of ergonomics in the workplace, and you will have the tools and knowledge you need to create a safe and comfortable workstation that promotes productivity and overall well-being.

The course comprises a short video (27 mins) and a course quiz (5-10 mins). You'll need a 70% passmark to receive your course certificate.

This course has been developed with the assistance of Bronwyn Clifford, who is the owner of Ergo at Work Ltd. Bronwyn is a renown Occupational Health Physiotherapist and Ergonomics Consultant for various industries including television, oil & gas, technology, finance and publishing.
