Drone Fundamentals

Course Overview    

1st Option Safety Group in association with ConsortiQ are proud to offer you our new Drone Fundamentals Course which is designed to give content producers information and training on how the hazards associated with commercial drone use should be managed.

Designed and delivered by drone professionals, this half-day course tells you what you need to know about planning a drone shoot safely and effectively, covering the basics of law plus a guide to the technology available to programme makers.
Learning Type: Interactive session utilising multimedia presentation, review of real life incidents, syndicate exercises, group participation and discussion.

Course Content 

With a constant turnover of regulation and technology, plus ever-increasing use, operating and managing drones in productions is becoming increasingly challenging.
During the half day, the course covers:

  • A review of serious incidents which have already happened in media productions
  • The basics of current legislation, including recent and forthcoming changes
  • Current drone technology
  • How to manage your teams and book operators
  • Planning workshop
  • A chance to fly on the drone simulator

Aims & Objectives:
To enable staff to procure and manage drones confidently, and to assist employers meet their obligations to protect staff undertaking hazardous operations.

Qualifications

A certificate of attendance will be provided on request. This course also provides a foundation for the full UAQ-Media qualification for those wishing to operate drones themselves.
